Kisalaya Herbals Limited is a bulk manufacturer of standardised botanical extracts and phytochemicals, specialising in herbs grown or sourced in India. The material goes into Ayurvedic and herbal medicines, cosmetics, dietary supplements and food ingredients.

Kisalaya has been led by the same hands throughout: one Managing Director since incorporation in 1989. Around thirty-five people work full-time across two sites, including twelve chemists in three laboratories.

Where we manufacture

The unit for standardised herbal extracts and phytochemicals sits in the Pithampur industrial area, in Dhar district, near Indore, a major business city of Central India, connected by air, rail and road. A large part of India’s forests lie in Central India, in the vicinity of the factory.
The distance matters commercially: raw herbs are procured quickly and economically, and local experts select the material. The process it feeds is set out in full on the manufacturing page.

Herbs are procured locally, with local expertise applied to selecting the material before it enters the plant.
Testing
Tested at both ends.
The factory at Pithampur tests raw material as it enters production. The office laboratory in Indore tests the finished extract again. A microbiology count runs before anything ships.
Licence and certification
The company was incorporated in 1989. Manufacturing began in 1994, the year licence 25D/12/94 was issued by the Office of the Drug Controller (AYUSH), Madhya Pradesh. The company has held an Importer-Exporter Code since August 1995.
